The CWENCH Cup Invitational moves into its 6th year of events. The Alberta events will still play under the name Challenge Cup hosted by the Hockey Super League. The BC events will rebrand under the CWENCH Cup Invitational. This allows players and teams the opportunity to win different branded MVP awards and team awards in the two provinces.
The Challenge Cup and CWENCH CUP Invitational Series has seen events hosted in 6 different cities in Alberta and British Columbia over the years. The tournament series dates back to 2019 where we had our first ever tournament in Jasper, Alberta in 2019. The Challenge Cup and CWENCH CUP Invitational tournament series offers a unique opportunity for teams to head into a city representing thier leagues, but only facing the opposing league in games.
This best on best rivlary between the HSL and HPL has become a massive hit. Teams all get a 5 game guarantee, favorable ice times, and awards to the player of the games, as well as the Finalists and Championship teams.
For the 2025/2026 season the HSL will host the Challenge Cups and HPL will host the CWENCH CUP Invitational tournaments for the 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, and 2013 birth years.

All games at Planet Ice locations are broadcasted over Livebarn and accessible to watch for any family member that can't make it to the travel event.
